Southwest to adds Baltimore flights coming in June

Cayman will be getting a new gateway to the US come next year.

From June Southwest Airlines will begin adding seasonal service on Saturdays between Baltimore/Washington and Grand Cayman effective 15 June, 2019.

Tourism Minister Hon. Moses Kirkconnell made the announcement on Friday (16 November) in the LA as he released Cayman’s latest tourism figures.

“Along with the new route of Denver by our own Cayman Airways, we look forward to more growth in our industry and more gateways to serve us and more benefits for our people,” said Mr. Kirkconnell.

And this past June Southwest began its daily non-stop service to Grand Cayman from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Southwest also announced today it will be adding seasonal service on Saturdays effective June 15, 2019, between:

Baltimore/Washington and Grand Cayman*
Houston (Hobby) and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic*
*Routes are subject to government approvals.
 
Yes, let's add even more traffic to the airport on Saturdays!

They've got to pay for the costs for the new airport and those new big Boeing jets that they've invested in! :wink:
