Well, we have planned the next meeting of the Southern West Virginia Dive Club. The meeting will take place at Applebee's in Lewisburg, WV (next to Wal-mart, just south off I-64) on Wednesday, May 19th at 7pm. This is also not far from the Covington, VA area. The meeting and club is open to anyone who wishes to attend.
Our club, is always FREE, with no goofy obligations, or pecking order here:439:. I just consider us local divers looking to meet potential dive buddies and occasionally organize ourselves enough to plan a dive trip. We also plan gatherings at local dive spots and even look for some new spots to try.
This meeting is really the first of this years' dive season and I know, I personally cannot wait to jump in, FINS FIRST!! Some of our local spots are warming up nicely and we plan to hit them.
I also planned to bring up the May 30th dive at Lake Rawlings. I e-mailed them last week and asked them to send me a brochure to show the club about the lake. We will see if it gets here in time.
Also, anyone interested in our e-mail newsletter, drop me a line at wvdiveclub@yahoo.com and I will send it out to you as soon as it's ready.
Again, anyone interested is welcome to attend. I hope to see some new faces there!!
