All,

My parents Snowbird near South Padre Island during the winter and we are planning to visit them for Christmas.

It looks like we'll be able to talk my parents into watching our children to let my wife dive for a day...likely either December 17th or the 18th.

My questions are the following:

  • What diviing is available that time of the year? Boat/Shore?
  • What are the conditions that time of year (temp/currents/vis)?
  • Who/what operator/LDS in South Padre would you recommend & why?

Thanks much...

Jan

A good bet is to try All American Divers. The gulf at that time of year is "iffy" Offshore boat diving would be your best bet. All American can answer all your questions. They have a website.

Anywhere in the NW Gulf that time of year is pretty dang rough. Cold too.
