I think the issue most people have is lifting a 45lbs/22kg keg and accurately pouring into a canister without making a mess or pulling a muscle. It's a lot easier to pour a "single serving" into a smaller container and then accurately pour that into the scrubber.

Okay, that makes sense. I avoid that issue by decanting the 22kg tub into 4.5kg tubs (with the help of a modified dishwasher salt funnel) and fill the scrubber from those. Not only are they lighter, and easier to use, they pack away better.
