Hello to everyone on this forum. I am an Oregon born freediver who has lately gotten into scuba. I am planning on moving to vancouver Washington by the beginning of next month. I am in SLC Utah right now. Taking the time here till I go and doing my basic OW class and drysuit and equipment specialist classes while i got the time.
One thing I was wondering is if there is a possible club or group to communicate with to find people to dive with and such. Being new to the area it will be tough. my GF may be pregenant so if that happens i will be without a buddy and dieing to get into the water when i get there asap.

Any help would be greatly appreciated so i can start diving as much as possible. Hope to hear from everyone and once again nice to meet you all.

There's a great dive shop in Vancouver called Seven Seas Scuba ... I'd recommend dropping by and letting them know you're in town. Dunno if they have a dive club, but I know several active divers out of that shop.

Also recommend you stop by our local PNW dive forum ... Northwest Dive Club. Lots of active divers from the Portland/Vancouver area. Also, we regularly do "club dives" that involve 30+ active local divers (sometimes more than twice that many) getting together for a day of diving, BBQ, and socializing. It's a great way to make yourself known to the local community.

Lots of active divers here ... mostly welcoming to anyone who's fun to be around. We're pretty low-key and sociable as a rule.

Anytime you want to head up north a couple hours, drop me a line ... I'm just north of Tacoma, and would be happy to show you a couple nice south Sound dive spots ...

Bought a nice drysuit just so I can go up north to dive actually :)

As I mentioned elsewhere, most of the divers in the Vancouver area come up to Puget Sound to dive. A lot of them hit sites in Hood Canal, but some come further up into the Olympia or Seattle areas. We have a few charter boats, too.

Bob's already given you some ideas for places to look for dive buddies and diving trips. I'll add to his invitation, and say that if you come up our way, get in touch ahead of time, and I'd be delighted to show you around some of our novice dive sites!

Consider then me coming up that way for dives at the beginning of the month if your free within probably the first week :). Got plenty of time and such to easily make it. I have a 100% open free schedule once i leave Utah. So can't wait :D

I'm working July 1 - 3, but I'll be coming home on the 4th for a week and a half.
