Aloha,
Anyone planning on diving the Kealakekua Bay area keep your eyes peeled - that is if you are out in the bay about halfway to the Cook monument to frolick with the dolphins. About even with the shore caves, and about 50 yds from shore, in about 50 ft of water (guess).
If you look carefully you'll find a mesh bag with 2 very nice Oceanic masks & snorkels, 2 sets of closed heel fins, a kid's mask, and a new bottle of Sea Drops. They weren't bungied down and we capsized our kayak Feb 26th, 2005. We could see them clearly from the surface...but I ain't got the lungs to free dive it.
If you are there, and are lucky enough to find them - enjoy.
Oh well.... it didn't ruin the trip and we've got a fun story to tell.... and Jack's Diving Locker in Kona picked up some extra business.
