Friends,
My wife and I will traveling aboard the Nautilus Explorer here on June 10th for a 10 day combo Sea of Cortez/ Socorro trip.

What are the water temps in June. Nautilus is telling us that we should pack a 7MM wetsuit. The water temps that I have found said it will be in the high 70s to lower 80 and to me that is 3mm temp. Do we really need 7mm due to currents or something else that I am missing regarding water temps? Or if we bring our 5mm's along will we be fine. (I am honestly thinking of packing the 3mm as well for the Sea of Cortez area, we might also try to do some land based diving out of la paz after the liveaboard depending on how we are feeling and what we thought of the Sea of Cortez area.

Has anyone done one and what has the Sea of Cortez portion been like?

I went to Socorro's in May of 15 and the water temp was high of 77 with Thermoclines/Upwelling 73-74. I had a 5mm, I wouldn't have comfortable with anything less with those temps and doing 3-4 dives a day.
As for the Sea of Cortez, I was on Rocio Del Mar to the Midriff Islands in August of last year. The water temps were a high of 85 with Thermoclines/Upwelling of 73-74. I was wearing a 2mm shorty and wished I had my 3mm full for the Thermoclines/Upwelling.
