I think the difference here is that there seems to be a growing number of people who don’t understand scientific method ...

Objection Your Honour: no evidence that more people understood scientific method before.

It is a bit ironic that the view you mentioned is becoming more mainstream due to groupthink :)

whether you have a pee valve or not, drysuit diving is still an expense and a hassle that those poor warm, salt water divers don't have.
Agree completely. But when the choice is between the expense and hassle of a drysuit, freezing your arse off or not diving.... I know what I choose :)

Don't know what you drysuit folks mean by "gluing"
Condom catheter. It's like a condom, just a bit more heavy duty, with a spigot at the end and glue on the inside.

Manscaping definitely helps with comfort.
Not just manscaping. The other weekend (before the lockdown) I shared a cabin with two cave divers. Of course they were equipped with pee valves.

I didn't quite understand why the woman was in such a hurry to get in the shower between the morning and the afternoon dive. Turned out she had forgotten to, uh, "mow the lawn" before attaching the she-P. Apparently, it wasn't very comfortable. And I guess that if she'd made an appointment for a Brazilian shortly after, the operator would've had an easier job.

I guess if lots of 80-year old men can handle wearing one every day, I can handle wearing one when I dive.... :D
If you must, you must. If I mustn't, I prefer not to. Personal preferences and all that.

You are correct, I should have said that the quantity of information thrown by social media compounded with the lack of understand of scientific method ... (not implying that there was a change)

Apologies.

For those wondering what a She-P looks like:

They basically glue that to their uhhh.... nether region.

Which doesn't seem particularly more inconvenient to me than gluing a condom catheter to your male uhh... nether region. Probably some difference, but probably not a fundamental difference.

Well our gluing area is a bit more prominent, so it is easier to position. Also the area that we glue to doesn't have hair coming out of it. Finally it looks like it uses a lot more glue.
