I ran out at lunch to hit McD’s just to get some fresh air. We’ve actually got a nice day here.

Everyone I talk to is amazed I’m still working in the office. I’d go stir crazy in my small place if I didn’t go into the office.

Working.

Spending quite a bit more time getting the digital tools to obey my commands and being able to use the slack time on home activities, but otherwise business as usual. Except i can't chat with my coworkers during coffee time.

I check in on scubaboard occasionally to see which of my posts have been deleted for being "off topic". We will see how long this one last...
Well, not a lot is off topic these days when nobody's doing much diving.

Since McDonalds no longer allows customers to enter the building requiring them to use drivethrough ordering, I've given up on McDonalds.
Actually seating in all restaurants is prohibited, although take out is still OK as long as you don't enter the building. most other services have been severely curtailed, can't see a teller in my bank, get a haircut, buy clothing in a clothing store, get my back massaged, enter a park, or walk anywhere in a group larger than 2 persons. Naturally movie theaters and sporting events are closed too.
The last time I called my doctor for an appointment, his clerk decided that I didn't need to show up, the Rx was in the mail on the following day.

And I'm still packing everything for the move from Germany to Lake City Fl.

Are you really sure you want to move to the US right now?

Actually, in a moment of relative anonymity and inspired transparency, I thought I’d share something I’m really battling with.

With all the downtime and boredom, I've really had a relapse with my addiction lately. It’s gotten so bad that today I was so addled that I nearly launched a post about SAC versus RMV that would have gotten me banned.

It all started two years ago pretty innocently while on a business trip. Some Australian colleagues introduced me to an over-the-counter medication that when mixed with other drugs turns out to be pretty deadly. I just got in over my head and the stuff took over my life.

I successfully suppressed my addiction for the past year but COVID-19 and the soft curfew policy going into effect across the country has simply exposed a salient I can’t defend.

I’ve become an absolute mess again and I just can't get enough. I have the stuff everywhere...in the house, the car, at work in the office and even in my lunch box. But worse, it has spread to my family and now my wife and daughter are struggling. We have to get some serious help.

So, if any Australians innocently offer you a Tim Tam to go with your coffee, you know what to do....just say no and avoid a downward spiral into a life of chocolate despair.

Starting to wonder, but I cancelled my lease as of 31 June 2020, so Kater and I are commited to the move, although Kater has no idea what living on a quarter acre in Lake City is like. Being a proper elderly tomcat, he'll take it in stride as long as he can sleep on my chest at night.
