I agree with Arnaud... SoCal or Southern California!

Cali is just a shortened form of how our new Gov pronounces it....Caleeefornia? I do not think so!

SoCal/NorCal is my favorite!

I can sooo live without the CALI part..
SoCal is very appropriate.

Not to start yet a new California Whine-ery, but, last I heard, Cali was a city in Colombia. Why don't we just label the Northern thread "Frisco" for heaven's sake?!

Umm, for obvious reasons! *roaring*

Herb Caen would be rolling in his grave if he read this!

Bwahahahaha!
Too funny...

But seriously... NoCal/SoCal are fine for the splits, but we DO need a name for the entire California club. Of course, we could always call you guys the "Cali Dive-inators". :tease:

Regarding the club's name, let's look at what we have:

1. California is the Golden State
2. We have the giant kelps that makes some of our flora and fauna (and our diving) so unique
3. The garibaldi is the State marine fish
4. We have a great selection of sharks

Anyone wants to contribute to the list of what makes California special? We could turn the list into a poll and use the most popular element in our name, as in "California [blank] Divers" or something...
