My husband and I normally take our travel trailer down to the parking lot at Breakwater in Monterey Bay for the weekend and go diving. We were thinking about going down to southern CA for the first time diving over the Christmas break and were wondering if there were any similar places down there where divers "congregated" and stayed in RV's (cheaply) while they dive. It only costs $12 a night to dry camp in the parking lot at Breakwater for a travel trailer.

If not that, are there any RV parks that are diver friendly?

Thanks,
Fuzz

I was wondering the same thing. I am an RVer and a diver and love to do both. I have gone to socal but in the past have had to stay in a motel.

Sorry guys, I asked a question and then never checked back. I checked out Carillo State Beach and then I checked out Point Mugu SB. I was reading about the young white sharks that have been showing up down the southern coastline bumping surfers. (shiver) One was seen at Mugu, about 14 ft. They say they are close to shore in the shallows...about where I putter around when I'm shore diving. Hmmm. Maybe I'll stick with Breakwater, I've got this big yellow streak down my back when it comes to GW's.

With all of the diving that we do here in SoCal, I don't believe we have a recorded GW attack on a diver. I may be wrong and I'm sure someone will correct me if I am.

It's just not worth worrying about. In fact, a group of us will be at Leo Carrillo this weekend.

Hope you get an opportunity to do some diving down here. It can be very nice!

Nooo, I didn't see any on divers per se, but those little grey boogers are out there!:D

See the article I'm referring to below.
