More crap from the Nanny State. Bah Humbug!!

Live life dangerously, it's more fun.
Seriously, I think that violates Scubaboard rules.

I'm not an AIS expert, but AIS is VHF & land based but at 1 watt power you may get 5 miles. My VHF radio is 5 watts and I can barely get 5 miles since I'm at water level & not a big 10ft antenna ontop of a boat. Add to this the transmit power consumption every 60 seconds and I can understand why it has to be so big so there is enough room for the battery brick. It does have the 406 sat signal if remote diving. If your own boat has AIS and is looking for it's own diver who also has AIS that's fine. Otherwise, I'd want that 406 sat signal if floating overnite. Or how about that T-Mobile phone that has GPS and can send Txt Msg thru starlink and will fit in a canister, now that's the cat's meow !!

See T-Mobile and Starlink satellite connectivity explained: What you need to know. Even once it is working, all you'll get is a slow txt message to someone. It is not exactly a S&R arangement like InReach offers or the PLB is built for.

Lets face it. What everyone wants is a simple and small "I fell down and can't get up" button that's good to any depth, anywhere in the world. The tech is there and its not rocket surgery. Someone just needs to decide if the demand and the profit margin pans out for them.

What is the tech you are referring to?

What I am saying is that the Nautilus Lifeline has already proven that a similar sized tech device can be contained within a package that is tolerant to depth / pressure. They....or someone else.... just needs to incorporate the SAT EPIRB or PLB tech into a similar sized package.

Would be cool if they ever project enough sales to make one of these like the ResQLink that fits into a dive canister like the Custom Divers one.

Still keeping the Nautilus around until then. Even though my first one flooded.
Dryfob XL?

To what extent is the little Garmin thing not doing that? Which additional features does it need? For how much $$ per month subscription? 🤦💸
