I ain't much worried about the rattlesnakes, it's them water bugs I don't like. I've had them things run me off a few times while fishing. Thats a nasty critter with a full mouth of bad attitude.

Not diving, but while fly fishing on a lake from a kayak I've had moccasins swim straight for the kayak from out of the reeds. I figured they are territorial and I was on their turf. They typically dropped the aggressive behavior when my paddle entered the argument. Turtles would dive bomb that kayak too.... maybe it was just the kayak. Good thing I traded it in for a Sea Ray

After 3rd time diving Ginnie Springs we did an extended night dive and and saw about dozen Florida Brown Water Snakes (Feb 2006) . They were everywhere! I am not normally terrified by snakes but while diving, at night when you don't have the (same) gravity to assist you it is a little different story!

Luckily they weren't interested in us and I had a BRIGHT light!

Okay, that first picture gave me the creeps. I really don't like snakes. And I like to think that when I'm in the water, they're not.

But seriously, you've got some awesome negotiation skills.

I feel that snakes are misunderstood.
I brought him home with me and we came to an agreement
