Small HD camera for all round use

I am a photographer but would like to invest in a small but useful HD camera. Except not a GoPro - already have one, nothing but problems.

Its main use will be to capture stuff on the fly if I am guiding dives, with students or generally doing a dive when I cannot take my large dSLR set up (which is most of them).

Recommendations welcome and thanks for thinking about it.

Also, just cause the obvious quesiton must be asked...what sort of problems have you had with the GoPro? I just ordered a tray and lights to go with mine as I've had nothing but good luck with it (since switching to a flat port).

Have a compact JVC fm1 for sale- shoots still and video as compact as it gets other than the gopro

Be careful about the "with students" part if you're an instructor - check with your agency to ensure it's allowed.

Hope I'm not late but this little guy does a great job goes to 100ft on your mask strap and won't break the bank.

I have just bought a second hand Sanyo HD2000 with epoque housing

To have decent quality you need to have a tray base though
An alternative is to have something like flip or JVC fm1 but they only get you to 720p
