Assuming you are diving in a "normal" position, the fact that there is a constant buildup of water suggests the leak is in the mouthpiece where it is picked up in the breathing path and directed into your mouth. Most other possible leak locations would build up in the reg body and be expelled through the exhaust valve when in a "normal" position. Only when you go upside down would it readily flow into your mouth, and then it tends to be quite a bit.

Could be a leaking exhaust second stage valve. Sand or sea weed could be caught.

All advise is greatly appreciated, this comment falls in line with what I was thinking, the sea water was collecting in my mouth not just rasping inside the second stage. This is why I made a conscious effort to ensure my mouth piece was secure in my mouth. I did spend some time on the last dive messing around, inverted or looking back up to the surface, but did not notice any excess water infiltration.

Again, all this commentary has given me plenty to work with when I visit my LDS this afternoon. Thanks to everyone.

Took the reg into the LDS, they removed the mouth piece and we found sand and stuff in the groove where the zip tie holds the mouth piece. If it were properly tightened down, then we should not have found so much debris. Cleaned every thing up and set the mouth piece back (after inspection) with a pair of pliers. Now on to waiting for some warmer weather to test everything out.

Thanks for the input!

What about testing it in a pool first before you go out diving in open water?

The issue never expressed it self in the pool when I bought the gear to begin with. It was only during the dives I took in Kaui that I noticed the issue. The next shake down dive will be in a quarry (I live in Ohio)... the closet quarry to me s not much more than a glorified swimming pool, never noticed leakage problems there either... but it will be the next step. I would prefer to limit my gear exposure to chlorine as much as possible. So, I will wait for the weather to get warmer.
