I have a TUSA IQ600 that I bought new less than three months ago. This unit is slow to react to temperature changes. It takes it roughly 7 minutes to register a 10F degree change in temp and this rate does not change regardless of the total temp difference, i.e. if surf temp is 80F and at 50' it is 55 the delta would be 25F and the total time for the TUSA to reach that temp would be 2.5 times 7mins or 17.5 minutes. Does this seem normal for these computers in specific or dive computers in general? Please tell me if you think this unit is damaged. It is under warranty. Thanks.

Can't comment on the TUSA but my Suunto registers changes far more quickly. I would take it back in.
 
Are you checking response time while still inside the console? If so, you should check just the computer module for reaction speed. It's normal for console mounted computers to be pretty slow if there is a tight seal on the back.
 
Is there a free water flow to the sensor?
Have you modified the boot in any way?
Is anything else on your wrist stopping the water getting at the sensor, bungee cord, soft dry suit fold etc.

I agree about these possible faults....maybe the console boot avoid a correct contact between the water outside and the computer sensor....well..i´t common see how the temp sensors tend to be the worst ones in diving computers..even the same models have several readings in the same conditions...i just hope such readings are not too much important in the newer deco models... :crafty:
 
I have an Aeris AtmosPro and experience very slow temperature response as well. I just thought that's they way they were.
 
In response to the Q's about the mount it remains in its factory wrist mount and the majority of the rear is open to freeflow. I even took it out, taped it to fishing weights and deployed it with a rod and reel to 55' and still no change in the poor performance.

Here is a real kick in the pants. I took the battery out and let it sit for twenty four hours before trying it again while diving last weekend. NOW.......It records surface temp as the temp suppose to represent lowest temp exposed to. As an example, I took a 43 minute dive where the vast majority of the time the temp was barely above 70F on my pressure gauge thermo and the computer stuck with 82F the whole time all the way down to 53 feet in a spring feed lake that averages high 60's on the bottom this time of year.

I am now angry and disgusted with this little jewel.
 
My Aeris Atmos Pro is slow as well. I don't much care since the water temp is always 50 at depth here :)
