Slight whistling in left ear..

I was diving today and now I'm back on land and I can here a slight whistling in my left ear. Only when someone speaks or the phone rings, etc. I did clear my ear and didn't have any ear pain during the dive. Could I have damaged my ear or could it just be some water stuck in my ear?

If you are a DAN member, you might want to call their docs. Regular non-diving docs don't always understand the affects of diving but DAN's docs do.

In the short-term, try this link. In the article it discusses tinnitus which may be your issue. I'd call DAN or your doc and get it looked at to be sure.

I recommend that you see a doctor, perferably an Ear, Nose, Throat doc.

Hello Letmekilluplz,

I agree with the previous posts. If something does not feel right in your ear, you should see an ENT specialist. In my experience, every time a diver has complained about a feeling of water in the ear after a dive (even several hours later) it is usually a pressure injury. If you are hearing strange noises you should definitely see a doctor. You might have a pressure injury to the inner ear. This would require treatment.

I hope that you have nothing wrong and can get back into the water as soon as possible. However, it is always best to be sure.

You don't have to be a DAN member to call for advise. It's a good idea otherwise, but not required.

Always a prudent idea. Could be a wasted trip, but nice idea.

this happened to me, i reckon it could be a slight perphoration, and people are right in saying normal g.p's dont pick up on it. I just stopped it from gettin wet and it healed in a month or so.
