While not exactly about diving, it may be of some interest to many on this list to read that Ambon and other Indo islands are being used as havens to keep men as "slaves" for fishing boats:

" another, much larger, fleet of fishing boats crewed by slaves has been identified on the Indonesian island of Ambon – ...... Officials from the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) believe that ..... a total of around 1,000 slaves. [are being kept there]"
