Unfortunately I lost my SK7 my loading my gear up today, I guess I left it in the parking lot :shakehead:. I had the SK7 wrist mount, but in the DSS boot and I'm looking to repurchase both. It looks like SK7 Add-On is $7 cheaper than the SK7 Wrist, I imagine they are both the same exact compass, just different mounts. I shouldn't have a problem removing the compass from the Add-on mount in putting in a DSS boot, should I?

I have no specific knowledge of that one, but the wrist mount looks similarly tight ... warm water works wonders
(until I get a DSS mount for it, I converted the wrist boot to a bungee mount)

I've taken the SK7 out of an end mount before. Totally doable. If you never need the end mount boot again, just slice it a little bit to make taking it out easier.

Careful not to put too much pressure on the actual compass housing. They're more delicate than they look.

Or you could be frugal and carefully with force extricate the compas module thing yes without pressing on the cheap plastic with hot water quickly, which is probably why they make tough almost impenatrable housings for them and sell the end housing or wrist boot for more than it costs to buy two of those bungee things the only value of which is when you get your arm stuck somewhere which is pretty good value.

Hi soamelt,

I actually have a almost new sk7 that has been removed from the boot and isn't in use cus it's calibrated for the northern hemisphere n unsuitable for Singapore.

If you are interested in it please drop me a mail.

I had the SK7 on the rear of my console and moved it to the top on the front. The consoles are modular so easy to change.
