This may be a stupid idea,I dont know, so I put it here to see what everyone thinks.I may have,I repeat I MIGHT have access to a couple of old runabout boats that are damaged and have no engines for free. Would it be any problem for me to sink them in a couple of places in Lake Simcoe to create new dive spots? Perhaps off Big Bay point to make a boring dive a little more interesting??Again it is just an idea.

And a great idea at that!! I would imagine permits are involved - probably from Oceans and Fisheries.

I don't know how big your boat is SimcoeDiver, but I certainly have enough HP to pull a boat out. I have twin 350's, so if you need a tug - I'll be glad to help out. Just an offer if you need it!!

On another sunken note, I went out today and had a look at some of those co-ordinates you gave me. I see the Black is right at Cooks Bay Shoal. Any idea if she ran aground and sank or was placed there intentionally?

When you dive the Black you will see a big hole in the bow so I can only assume that it hit the shoal and sank. I may be wrong.

Clean it up good and sink it on a dark moonless foggy night. You will never get a permit to sink her as the site location needs to be investigated by goverment officials and approved which just won't happen in lake Simcoe. Tell know one your time and location prior to sinking be prepared for nosey cottagers to come out yelling, Make sure the boat will sink fast with in minutes.

ROTFLMAO :crafty:

Yep, midnight sinkings are a common occurance around here. Not only boats, but telephone booths, televisions complete with lawn chairs fitted with concrete feet and so on. But please make sure you clean them up and they are free of oils and lubricants.

Permits will never be issued, and if you ask for one, they may come back to you later and accuse you of something you didn't do. So, just don't ask.

Oh, and make sure you have some James Bond music playing softly in the background when you do this. It helps complete the setting and creates the mood. :eyebrow:

OK, I gotta ask. Where the **** in Manitoba are sinkings a common occurence? Spent the first twenty-something years of my life in that province...

James Bond theme idea is a nice touch. :D

When the Red River (??) over-flows its banks onto the farmers fields, they sink a lot of John Deere tractors :-)

Hehehehe. Yeah I spent an eternity there for a few years myself. :-)

If ya keep the doors locked and keep the car moving when passing Portage on Main street, you'll be OK.

Hey PT, in all seriousness........On Main Street, just south of Portage (Towards the train station??) going that direction, on the right, is the "Blue Note" bar still there and functioning?

It's right beside, uhmmm, "Ms. Purdy's"..........that "odd" bar where men are men, and their tight leather pants........

well, you know..........

I used to go to that bar occassionally........BLUE NOTE, not the other one :-)
