After a few friends talked me in to using their OMS gear this year I made the switch to DIR Style. I just can not wait to dive it. Thanks Santa! :D

Nice setup, except it's not christmas yet, you cheater!

P.S. I have an Oceanic CDX5 first stage if you need to go doubles, as well as a CDX5/GT3 first stage and second stage combo I'm looking to get rid of.

Thanks, Santa comes early down south!

My wife has the same reg so I can take that but I might just replace everything as I go along. I do like the reg but some people seem not to. Don't really know why.

Very nice, you must have been good this year.

I have no clue as the this DIR/H thing....but nice set-up.....looks like Santa was good to you. Have fun and enjoy!

Nice setup, but wrong subforum...

Technical includes hogarthian which in turn includes DIR. But not the other way around! Also, and as I'm sure you are well aware, unless you are actually practicing DIR, this is merely a set of gear that happens to resemble the gear a DIR diver might choose.

How is a single cylinder setup remotely "technical"? But thanks for your helpful post. :shakehead:

So Hogarthian is under technical. Are you saying that a single tank rig cannot be Hogarthian because it isn't technical?

Likewise DIR is under technical, and DIR specifically includes single tank configurations. Therefore are you saying that some DIR is technical, but some not? If so, perhaps the DIR forum doesn't belong under technical. We could campaign to have it moved under Basic Scuba.

Likewise, what do we do with cavern diving? Is it technical? Or maybe just advanced??

I get the distinct impression you're taking my post a little more seriously than I took it. The whole thread is nothing more than a chance to share in the feel-good holiday spirit. Roll with it!

And as I said, nice rig. Regardless of what you say or how the subforums are organized, there is nothing (!) "technical" about this rig (maybe things *should* be reorganized...).

This thread most definitely belongs in Basic Scuba. Or BC.
