I want to ask if there is a wing for both single and doubles . I have a older OMS from the 90,s designed for doubles and using it now with a single tank . The primary use will be with a single tank . I want to purchase a very heavy duty wing with enough buoyancy to lift my anchor and chain off a wreck . The donut style wing a good choice to consider ? What can you recommend and the cost is not important .

Get a lift bag for the anchor.......:D

I would hate to loose my grip on the anchor with a full wing of air.......

PS......

There is no wing that works well for both....

Get two wings........

There are some wings that are advertised as being suitable for both. Whilst they will work, they are far from optimum and are likely to be detrimental to your overall diving experience.

Keep that for double tank diving?

Get a single tank wing. You can use your existing backplate and harness. Nothing beats having the right equipment that is dedicated in design for the task you want it to perform.

I want to purchase a very heavy duty wing with enough buoyancy to lift my anchor and chain off a wreck . .

If you are talking about 'recovering' the anchor/chain to your boat, then it would extremely dangerous to use your wing buoyancy for that. It's contrary to what most (all?) agencies would consider best practice or safe diving practices.

Use a lift bag for lifting things. Far less chance of an uncontrolled ascent and resulting trip to a hyperbaric chamber that way...

I like donut wings. I find it them convenient for placing and moving air where I want it...and easier to dump air from horizontal trim also.

There are lots of great options, but if you want a hard-wearing single tank wing.... you can't beat the Oxycheq Mach V Extreme....

I'll echo DD's comments. The wings that are "designed" for singles and doubles don't do either very well. I have 3 doughnut wings and I sold my only horseshoe wing, if that says anything. The difference in actually diving them is minimal, though.

You would be better served to get a proper single tank wing and a lift bag for your mission. The Halcyon Eclipse is a good one, as is the Oxycheq Mach V (I've seen both up close, other brands I cannot comment about). The only thing I don't like about the Oxycheq I handled was the corrugated hose. It was one of those hard plastic deals. The H one is a softer rubberish material that actually stretches a bit, which is the whole point of it being corrugated.

Well Jorgy it is obvious that I use my BC sometimes that may be considered dangerous . To use a lift bag at night on a wreck with marginal visibility is also dangerous . I access the risk and take responsibility for my actions . I inflate to a minimal pull like hell and throw the anchor repeat until clear of debris

Thanks , the oxycheq , halcyon and deep sea supply wing will be my choice . My only concern is my faber low pressure 131,s will fit those BC,s

Exactly although, I prefer the corrugated hose of the oxycheq as the Halcyon's hose is rather wide and is more difficult to remove n install the LP inflator hose.

I requested for the 13" version, a 19" for sm diving and a 18" phantom LP hose for dual usage.

Lot's of pp dive short tanks and it's just a matter of finding something to set it down n not squash the wing under it.
