am stating places less than 4 hrs range. Manado, Bali, Sipadan are divable but not in the best season.

oh okay. I'm new to the diving scene...so the further places i'm not sure. Even the season, whether it's good or not, i'm also not sure about it. My travels are planned according to my school schedules. Like last dec, i went to manado to dive...also had no idea whether it was the season or not:)

Although the answer might be a little late for Check6, hopefully it helps others. As mentioned, Gear in Singapore is cheaper here than if bought elsewhere in the region, BUT brands available as well as price in Singapore are Higher than if you were to purchase them from Leisurepro, Scubatoys or their ilk. Even with shipping and tax included, I often find myself buying/ordering online more often than not.

Only issue is with items than are either defective when shipped or wrongly packaged, than the cost escalates because of return shipping, but neither has yet occured by my experience, small as it has been. Also, the unwritten policy in Singapore is than if your regulator needs servicing and it wasn't bought from the distributor in Singapore, your servicing bill goes up by 100 - 150% depending on the distro... i.e. Scubapro, Oceanic, Apeks, etc...

Went to Concourse at Beach Road, Richimond, Waikiki, Oceanic etc are there.

The owner of Oceanic was very nice and helpful. Pretty limited stock.
Waikiki very unhelpful. Richmond guy was into it, but they did not have the Scubapro G250V in stock and said that they would not have it until Feb! (It's already out in the U.S.) I was going to buy it in SG so that I would the service. Prices are definitely stiffer than in the U.S.

goodeatsfan what online retailers do you recommend that ship to SG?

you've got quite a few options, than again, it depends on what you want to get. Scubatoys does deliver to Singapore as well as divingniknaks from the UK. Just a note thoug, if ordering from the UK, do get them remove the VAT charges.

I have purchased dive gear from Scuba Toys, Divetank, Scubaright and leisurepro. My latest order with Scuba Toys last week arrived in Brunei within 3 days after confirmed order. All shipment transit in Singapore. from tracking info, typically 1 - 2 days to reach Singapore by UPS.
