Here is a simple gear hanger for drying the small items. This evolved through trial and error and works pretty well.

All you need is a hanger, some plastic cloths pins, ty raps and some electrical tape.

The plastic pins allready have a hole and appear to be stronger than wood.

The tape keeps the pin from sliding to far and keeps it all balanced. I will add more tape for less slide in the future.

Here is a picture of the HIR system.

Here is a closeup of the cloths pin attachment with ty rap or cable tie.

Last but not least is the "HIR" system in action.

This has my boots, gloves, swim suit and mask on it, the mask fits nicely over the hanger hook.

It can and has carried more weight, I have also had a hood, flashlight, slate, and knife on it. I did hang the snorkle from it once, but that was before I started leaving the snorkle in the gear bag.
