And is the water still "cold" relatively? I'll be diving the Similans next week and haven't decided on a wetsuit yet.

Cheers

Hey Fishz,

I too am heading to Thailand next week. I was hoping that I'd be diving in a 3mm shorty. I'm now taking a 3mm full, 5mm full and my shorty. Fingers crossed that the water will warm up and the viz will improve.

Regardless, I'm really looking forward to diving in the Andaman Sea, eating lots of Thai food and exploring the country. This trip is going to be a blast!!

Happy Diving!

Eric

Hey Eric- That's some luggage allowance you've got if you can take all three suits! I'm leaning toward a full length 3mm. Sounds like that's a minimum from the other thread.

This is my first trip with a camera so I'm hoping for vis being back to normal too. I can't wait to get out there!

I was thinking I'd wear the shorty and 3mm on long flight ... :D

Nah. Wear only the full suit on your flight. It's just too hard to get out of layered wetsuits in those tiny airplane lavatories when you need to pee during the flight. :)

Joking aside, though, I'm advising people that shorties are not enough protection for a series of multiple-dive days with the water temps as they are currently. Besides, a full suit will protect you from any stinging stuff you might come into contact with in the Andaman waters.

I'll be there in a month and will be taking my full 3mm.

but I dont get cold really, I did multiple dives in Sharm in 24 degs average with a 3mm.
