When we did the Bone Room tunnel in Ginnie, having the line on the ceiling made me extremely nervous (but not nervous enough, it turned out). All I could think was how hard it would be to find if we lost it and the viz went down. I was also worried about entanglement -- I hate the line above my manifold.
The size of these rooms becomes a factor too....lose the line in a large room and even without silt, it could seriously mess up your day.

I absolutely hate the flow down the bone line, which sucks, because one of the prettiest rooms in Ginnie is off of there and you don't even need a stage :(

That's why I practice "lost line" procedures at my local reservoir, where the visibility is about 1 foot on a good day, and goes to zero viz after I do one lost-line drill.
 
I was doing a dive at Lake Travis and had a similar thing occur. Vis was reduced to zero. Could barely even see a glow from my light right in front of my mask. Luckily it was open water so we just ascended a little and continued the dive.
