Ok, here is the situation. Beach dive, two divers. No one else to watch the gear. What do you do with your car key? Do you carry it in something water-tight? Hide it on the car somewhere? See, told you it was a silly quesiton.

Mike

i carry my key with me in my undergarment pocket (if diving dry) or in my swim trunks pocket (if diving wet)

however, my key is just a key ... it has no security beepy stuff... so ... ymmv

I've been stashing mine in a BC pocket . . .but I'm half afraid it'll fall out one of these days.

Mine has a remote so it goes in a watertight container that fits in the BC....good to 150 feet. Works like a charm!

I take off my remote and leave it in the car. Then I carry the key with me.

I leave it in the ignition. Then again, my car is a boat and the boat is above me.

To answer your question keep a spare key hidden under your car. If you take your key under the water with you and loose it you will always have a backup. If you ever lock your key's in your car you will always have a backup. You can pick up one of those magnetic key holders and any Home Depot or auto supply store.

waterproof container in my bc

I used to leave the key in the ignition but I kept forgetting where I left it (or the car moves)
