It really #%^*$# off when stuff that happened numerous years ago is brought back in the public to affect someones job or keeping them from obtaining that job. Say for instance, I did something back in 1960 something..and now its 2004.....whether I did something or not back in 1960 whatever..why should it have an affect on me today?

In this case, you're right - you should not have to continue to pay the consequences for something you did before you were even born.

Not always, but sometimes it depends on the attitude of the individual. We all make mistakes and do stupid things. I have done more than enough for several people. If we admit we did it and ask forgiveness, it can be granted and we move on. On the other hand, if we deny we ever did something, when the overwhelming evidence exists that we did, these things can never go away no matter how much time passes. Even when we are forgiven for something we have done, it does not do away with the consequences for those actions. Some of the consequences of bad decisions are still with me after 35 years. My .02

Sure wish I could blame somebody else but I have to face the cause in the mirror every morning.

Maybe - there are consequenses - good or bad - for every choice we make. Sometimes, as the preacher said, they haunt us forever.

Yeah - and that's not right. Even worse, though, is the stuff people are "blamed" for or hated for that they have no control over - like where they are from or the color of their skin.
