hey guys.

i have been diving for some time with my sidemount kit making adjustments for a while but i never realy found out how to fic being heavy in the front. if i lay completly still i fall wery slowly forward.
after a bit of a struggel i finaly fixed falling to the right but now i have the problem with falling forward and the buttom of my bottels being too low.

do you guys have any idear what to do?
i dive 2 7 liter 300 bar steel cylinders

i have heard sumthing about even tho my tanks are stamped 10 kg then a 10 liter stamped 12,3 shuld be lighter in the water would a switch be worth it ?

Try heavier, more dense fins. That immediately puts weight further back but also give you the opportunity to push your feet back or pull them towards your butt for precise trim control.

I have RK3s and needed the HDs to balance out my SM.

Many things going on here.

-Bolt snap is waaaaay too far down towards the bottom of the tank. Move up at least 10cm towards the valve.
-The D rings which you are clipping the tanks to need to go towards your spine. Maybe only 5cm away from the butt plate each side.
-Bungees too long.

It doesn’t sound like your really off if you fall “very slowly” forward. I’d start with fin position and BCD weight distribution then d-ring and bolt snap placement before I bought new fins or tanks.

wouldnt that just make the distence shorter from the d ring to the cylinder?

sadly cant move the d ring further back

ill try that :)

i thougt the same. i can feel i am sooo close but no mater what i do it dosnt get better. right now my cylinder hangs low enoug for me to put my knee ontop of the cylinder witch is too low but if i move my cambands i start to tilt even more forward and a it to the right. (i think one cylinder is more dense thaen the other.
but no mather what, then i need biger cylinders since i am getting into tec diving and doing some decompresion diving and. right now on my dives its the air and ndl thats battiling being the limiting factor. gonna try diving 10liter steel 232bars and see how hevy they are and if its easyer to dive them if not ama just get some alumium they shuld be alot better XD

What is it clipped to your butt? In one picture looks like it holding some air. Blow a bit more in the shoulders of your drysuit see if that helps.

Moving the snap means moving the tank band up. Since the anchor point (d ring) is the same, this will move the top (heaviest part) of your tank down, moving some top weight closer to the center of you body.
