Has anyone else tried to take a single cylinder sidemounted instead of on the back?
Can anyone identify why this would be (or become) a problem?
I quickly moved from a back mount single to sidemounts, which are much more comfortable for me to take to the water, and take from the water, due to knee and back problems..
I experimented a little bit by passing off one of my cylinders to my buddy and found myself to be very stable in the water with either a single relatively light AL80 (700psi), or a single heavy AL80 (2500 psi). (Did this after experimenting for stability by drawing the one down, and leaving the other fairly full.... I was stable and not off balance with one side heavy, the other light.)
Going to do more extensive testing with the idea this Wednesday at Loch Low-Minn in Athens, TN
I'm probably going to get laughed at quite a bit... but if I still find it working well on Wednesday, .. I think I am going to stick with my side mount single when I have buddies on singles... I don't mine the laughing, as long as I am comfortable
Thanks in advance for everyone's input,
Take care
