side mounted "exhaust" or "traditional" configuration?

If you absolutely want a side exhaust, you may want to take a look at the new Mares Instinct.

I was out diving with my LDS yesterday, and he was reviewing it. He asked me if I wanted to try it out, I asked him how he liked it, he said not one bit, so I declined. :) Still, it could be less tempermental than the Poseidon.
 
I have a Aqualung Kronos which vents to the side (right side) and I love it. The bubbles go up the side of my head and out of my field of view. Its one of those things that until you try it you don't get how nice it is. Never had any "wet breathing" or anything like that. Breaths the same as any reg just it vents all the exhaust to one side and out. I recommend it.
