Should I buy Regulator from LDS?

I buy all my hard goods from them, boots, fins etc. since there's really not much warranty service ever required. I'd personally be a little more hesitant buying a regulator, computer or gauges though.

Another point to consider is that warranty service through LP means you send it back to them for all service. Probably not a big issue for you since you're in the same state.

I like your point about hard goods. A good reason to buy the Reg from LDS.

I also liked clambake's point about being able to get a loaner reg during servicing.

I was leaning towards purchasing from LDS and so far most posts made reinforce purchasing a complicated (and life dependent) piece of equipment from my LDS.

Now this brings another question.

How can you tell if your LDS is a competent tech?
