Calling on all you Atomic M1 or similar owners. I am interested in where you buy a 22" or 24" short hose for your necklace reg. Atomic doesn't sell short hoses for their regs. I also wonder why that is. Anyway, where do you obtain them as Atomic hoses seem to be a bit different from all other hoses. Thanks, Don.

Folks have also shortened the atomic swivel hose and reterminated the 1st stage end in order to retain the swivel.

^^^ this is the absolute best solution. I have 4 atomic swivel hoses that I would love to cut down to 22"-24" , but I just can't stomach the price for what is quite a simple fitting.

So it seems that no one knows why Atomic doesn't just sell shorter hoses for their regs...and no one makes a shorter replacement hose. The only solution is to make your own...hmmm.

Also, can anyone tell me why there is a red stripe over my photo with "OP" on it? What's OP?

Just get rid of the Atomic hose and convert to standard hoses as suggested. Atomic says they are the best, Scubapro might argue they are better down deep :stirpot:, in either case neither company seems to supply hoses with their regulators that are suitable for Hog rigs. I am of the mind that they consider those who are tech or Hogarthian to be an extreme minority. Based on observations they are probably correct to think the market is not sufficient to justify multiple hose lengths as options particularly for Atomic due to the proprietary swivel connection and perhaps stubbornness for both.

It has been industry standard forever to supply second stages with a hose NIB. Maybe that model needs to go away and we spec the second stage and then we spec the hose as separate items, would be nice, otherwise what would I do with this huge box of standard hoses I have no use for. So I sent them to the land fill and some gifted to the local scuba store to hand out like candy.

And welcome to scubaboard :).

The last time that the Huish Outdoors Vice President for Marketing was in our store, I discussed the hose issue with him.

Since M1's are normally used for deco applications, the normal 32 inch hose does not work for many people who wrap the hose around their neck. I discussed putting a 40 inch hose on instead.

On the subject of atomic hoses, if you replace that standard length hose with something else you might want to get the same grade of hose particularly for technical diving. Many other readily available hoses do not have the same level of durability. One well known hose company actually uses screwed on fittings which we have had come apart in the middle of a dive.

While Atomic does not market shorter hoses, Huish does sell the same grade hose in many other lengths separately without the swivel. I suspect whoever manufactures the hoses also specifically labels the hoses for Atomic. Contact a Huish dealer and see if they will get one for you.

We use those for 24, 26, 28, 40, and 84 inch hoses..

If no one will help you, contact me.
