Cobalt Coast is another great shore diving site. No problem to rent tanks and dive there if you are not staying at the Hotel. The bar/patio is a perfect location for lunch during a surface interval.
Divetech no longer allow their tanks to be taken off site which is a shame. One of the big shops on seven mile beach (forget its name) will rent off site tanks.

IMHO the best shore dive is Babylon on the NE coast but it is a fairly remote location and a long swim.Would be a bad place to mess up.
