Shore Diving in Ft. Lauderdale area near dive shop and small hotel

Can anyone recommend an area around Ft. Lauderdale which allows for shore dives, is close to a dive shop to be able to get tanks and is close to a reasonably priced hotel-all within walking distance of each other? I don't want to have to rent a car.

Someone told me that the town of "Lauderdale-by-the Sea" has these. Any comments and recommendations will be appreciated.

Lauderdale by the Sea has nice shore dives Commercial Blvd area and Deep Blue Divers is on the corner of Commercial and A1A so you want a place close to A1A & Commercial ... ask when you call.
I had friends stay at A Little Inn by the Sea and it was nice, but 2 blocks North of Commercial and A1A. South would be better
Be sure to post when you are diving and some divers will show up to show you the way lol

for this coming weekend and have a question:
This hotel is a few of blocks South of the Hibiscus Ave 'dive site'. Is the reef continuous to the south of Hibiscus such that I could enter due east of the hotel? Or do I need to go up to Hibiscus to get to the reef?

Additional Question: Where's a recommended nearby dive shop for air fills to this location?

Deep Blue Divers is the closest shop to Commercial Blvd. There are some rules to diving the Commercial Blvd area. See this page for some tips. I also have some short videos taken during dives I did there.
