I've been to Sunset House, the old and now gone; Seaview Hotel, etc. We are looking for the best shore dive at a resort on the island. Where is that?? Sunset House has gotten so expensive that it's not worth it to me! Where is "better and cheaper"? Or should we go to Little Cayman?

The other AI with shore diving is Cobalt Coast on the North side. They also have condos at Lighthouse Point, their other shop/shore dive site. Divetech is the op for both.

I think the best shore dive is off Bonnie's Arch condos - from there you can access Bonnie's Arch - they have a ladder down off the ironshore - or Coconut Bay condos. From CB you can get to one (or more) of the Hepp's sites afaik - we never stayed there. Also Turtle Reef - IMO the best easily accessible site - is next door.Stingray Watersports owner also owns/manages several units there. For Bonnie's Arch you'd have to rent tanks at Divers Supply in West Bay.

Both properties are on vrbo.com. Coconut Bay also has a website. I think they're all larger units - 2-3 bedrooms.

I agree that Sunset House has gotten pretty expensive. I prefer shored diving and being on my own schedule. The $$$ savings is nice too!

As far as "resorts" Diver Steve has it covered. As you probably know, there is shore diving all the way up and down the coast. You can access both Hepps Pipeline and Hepps Wall from CB condos, and Turtle Reef is right there as well. Not a resort, but, depends on what you're looking for.

diversteve and lopez, Great leads--thanks! I am now looking at Lighthouse Point and DiveTech, it looks like an easy shore entry off their dock anyway!! I also see on vrbo, a very nice condo at Bonnie's Arch but the owner hasn't gotten back to me.............

a spinoff benefit of diving with divetech is that you have unlimited axcess to their other site at Cobalt Coast for no additional cost. If the weather co operates, this is a fabulous shore dive site. Great miniwall.

Yes Lighthouse Point is an incredibly easy entry. Just walk down the ladder into 10' of water, kick out some and drop down to the mini wall. You can also access the main wall very easily from the site as well.

Bonnie's Arch condos are very nice and well maintained. You'll be happy there and close to Turtle Reef as well. You may want to talk to someone at Coconut Bay to see of you can access their ladder for shore diving their as well. They have the Hepp's sites just off shore.

Thanks Lopez,

The owner at Bonnie's Arch got back to me--it sounds great! I will check with Coconut Bay--are the condos as nice as BA?

I DID see a price on Lighthouse Point---makes Sunset House look CHEAP!! Wow, any next door or across the street alternatives?? We are going on a cruise and diving up at Divetech to further check it out. We always liked their op at Turtle Reef.

Cobalt Coast isn't cheap but they do package accomodation, diving, breakfast +/- other meals. They often have specials. Nice place, dynamite shore diving there and at Lighthouse. ( Both are Divetech locations ) worth a look.

The shop at Turtle Reef is actually Sundivers.

I don't know about Coconut Bay personally bc I've never stayed there.

Check out London House condos. Those are very nice as well. They actually have a very nice beach, not ironshore and the prices are good (at least in the summer). http://www.londonhouse.ky/

There is no shore diving in front of London House. It's on 7 mile beach.
