I snorkeled in front of CaribeBlu last Jan 06. It was soon after Wilma, so the damage was still visible. I did see the coral heads right off the shop coming back to life, as well as little sea fans starting to grow. I also saw many small fish, as well as a little ray that was living near the beach. Looking at rainmaker's pics, the area is coming back even better than I expected. The wife and I will be back March 1-8, and it looks like I will try to shore dive the spot this time!

We rented gear there last year (02/06). The BC's were Mares Vectors, sorry can't remember the regs. All the gear was new, post Wilma. My wife hated the way her BC fit, thought her reg was ok. I got along with my BC, but didn't care much for my reg. Everyone has their own preference I guess. Everything seemed well taken care of.

We rented our gear last year also. The Mares BCs were fine (funny, my wife had fit issues with hers also). I didnt like the Mares regs (thought there may have been an IP or cracking issue with mine, it breathed tough) and I had a minor free flow issue on one dive . The gear was in good condition and appeared relativley new.

LOL...I think you had my reg

Just a short note on inexperienced shore dives there...last June we saw the usual reef fish and a couple of barracuda in about 15 minutes and only about 15 feet deep. It's worth doing, but nothing like the ABC Islands stuff (that I've heard). Good place to do an equipment check and have some fun.

Here's a couple shots from a night dive there in front of the hotel (just south actually) Jan. 9-16th this year.

Almost missed this, but decided to stay dry one night.

I love Cozumel!

This convinces me. I will be at Caribe Blu in March (9-16) and am going to do a couple night dives from shore. Now I need to convince my wife.

Hopefully they are not already booked up. I looked into the first week of April and they were already booked up.

I only need to convince her to go on the night dives, we are already booked for the trip.

Very nice pics JJ. I think it was y'all that we saw diving further out close to the line, I think. Is there more reef out there...?
