All,

Army Flight medic is coming home on leave to (near) Utica, NY, where does he go diving if he only has basically one day (out of the 4 1/2 day trip) to devote to doing it (diving)?

-timeframe: 12-17 Aug 2012
-Diver(s) is a husband/wife couple who are both AOW certified
-willing to travel west as far as Oneida Lake, North as far maybe Old Forge, East to say Albany-ish, and south to about Glimmerglass (Cooperstown)
-Looking to do it inexpensively as we will be diving the USS Oriskany (not inexpensive) in Pensacola, FL on 10 Aug.

Any and all suggestions will be considered, and thanks in advance for your help!
Michael

Maybe I needed to title the post "Free Money"? just kidding....but seriously;

So I got two leads from Facebook of all places:
1. Delta Lake
2. Great Sacandaga

others would be appreciated or more specific info about either of these places would be great; I am planning on renting tanks from Dave in Rome, at the Delta Dive shop....been there before and love his shop and general way of doing business...maybe he can offer some local suggestions too?

Mike

I have been to A-Bay before several times before I was a diver, but have no idea where to start other than a charter? maybe? If I am gonna go that far, I was thinking more about lake George or even the Lake Champlain shipwreck registry thing...17th and 18th century shipwrecks sound like they could be interesting...
