The diving portion of the survey and documentation of the Kyle Spangler has been completed. A team from NOAA and myself spent almost two weeks completing this project. I am looking forward to the completed project being displayed at the NOAA Marine Heritage Center. There was news story today complete with some video. Here is the link. 9&10 News - Northern Michigan's News Leader

Steve Krol dove the wreck during the project. He was given the no's and is now the keeper of them. He can be reached at www.greatlakesdivers.com He will slowly open up the wreck next summer through his charters.

NICE. Masts still intact, personal effects still strewn around and everything; I hope that it stays that way...

I dove the Spangler a week and a half ago with Steve. Definately a wreck to see.I am looking forward to going back again next year.

Thanks!

Incidentally, I used to make the drive to Gaylord once in a while when I worked for a different company. We used a circuit board manufacturer there.

Absolutely beautiful wreck. Had the opportunity to speak with one of the DNR officers that was involved in this and although he's not a diver, he said the video was stunning. It is quite a shame though that as the numbers come out, the items will go missing....

Stan, in one of the video's it says the site is in approx. 200ffw......at what depth is the site??
