If you haven't been to Boanire before, I'd recommend grabbing 2 tanks at a time when you head out. I never only take 1 tank at a time. Many times, I will do 2 dives on the same site consecutively. First dive, I head north on the reef/wall until the turnaround time and then head back to entry point and exit. Relax and enjoy a surface interval, swap out tanks and then back in the water for dive 2 and enter at the same point, but head south on the reef/wall until turnaround and then back to entry/exit point. You get 2 dives on the same reef, but they are two totally different experiences. You don't need to worry about someone stealing the extra tank while you are diving. Doesn't happen. Even if I don't do a 2nd dive at the same site, I just drive down the road and pick another site to dive. Then back to your dive operator and swap out for 2 more tanks, grab some lunch and head back out for 2 more afternoon dives. You don't want to be running back and forth to swap single tanks after each dive. That will totally limit you and eat up your day. At times, they will even let me take 3 tanks at a time if I explain that I am going up into the national park for the day or explain I am going up further north where the road goes from 2 way to 1 way and it is going to take me longer to loop back around through Rincon and back to town. Enjoy!
