I'm heading over to South and North America for a long vacation. At the start of the trip, I'll be doing some diving in South America. Following that, I won't be diving the rest of the trip. I'm considering shipping my dive equipment from São Paulo (where I'll be based), back to Singapore before I continue on with my trip. Does anyone have any experience in shipping dive equipment? Any shipping companies to recommend? Would be glad to hear any other suggestions. Really prefer not to be lugging my dive equipment around for thr rest of the trip. Thanks!

Pack it up, insure it, go to the UPS office, get out your wallet.

Dive gear, except for a computer, is bullet proof. A properly packed mask is as well.

If you are shipping tanks, you may have to remove the valves. Most shipping rules that I have seen require tanks to have valves removed to prove they are empty.

Hi Poppy, if you looked further into this, would you please let me know the prices you found? In my search for baggage forwarders, I only found services that were more expensive than paying the airlines for excess baggage.

Many thanks.
