I have two reg sets. I have a Sherwood Oasis that comes with the SRB-5700 1st stage, and a Blizzard with a SRB-5900 1st stage. The first stages are physically identical on the outside.
Does anyone know the difference between the two?
PS: I found the differences between the second stages by searching here, but didn't find much on the first stages.

Exactly the same, the only one who is different is the Brut, the orifice doesn't have the belleville washers so it is not Balance Piston 1st stage.
So, all the FIRST STAGE - MAXIMUS SRB7600, OASIS SRB5700, BLIZZARD SRB5900, MAGNUM® SRB5300 are balance Piston 1st stage with Sealed Spring Chamber.
Check in the list, the body have different finish.
1. Like all current Sherwood Scuba regulators, the Oasis/Blizzard is equipped with Sherwoods patented Dry Air Bleed System. This unique feature accomplishes the very important task of keeping the interior of the first stage, including the main spring chamber, clean and dry. The Dry Air Bleed System helps give the first stage durability, stable output pressure, and outstanding resistance to cold water freezing effects.
2. Optimized internal porting maximizes flow rate capability to supply an appropriate air supply for high work efforts encountered during some dives.
3. The two primary ports (marked (PRI) gives a boost in output pressure during high flow which greatly increases the air capacity of the regulator.
4. The Oasis/Blizzard regulators five low pressure ports give mounting flexibility for any BC/dry suit configuration.
