That really sucks ! We last saw her intact early Tuesday morning .... ~8 AM.

Why would anyone do that?? Mean people suck!

RIP Shelly...I only got to meet you once!

And I'm terribly sorry I let Rick touch you inappropriately!!

LOL. What ever happened to "what happens underwater, stays underwater"

Looking closer at the pics that Peter posted, look at how the rebar is twisted. I just can't imagine how a person could generate enough force underwater to cause this. It makes me wonder if she wasn't snagged by an anchor.

Sometime between Monday night and Tuesday night (July 9th & 10th) - based on eye-witness accounts that she was intact on Monday evening - the Shelly of Shaws statue has been torn apart, and the majority of actual statue is missing completely. I've posted a few pics of the damage: www.28thstreetproductions.com

This is terrible, we were enjoying taking students out to Shelly for their first OW dive. Very sad, and looking at the pics, this took some doing either by accident or intentional.

Glad to see this is an old thread... I thought it had happened a second time.

Not sure I understand what everyone is talking about, but Saturday 5/10/08 we saw Shelly the statue and seemed to be ok
