As you know, the display is very customizable, so you don't have to have that info displayed on the home screen. I don't have that on my home screen either, but the info is there in the log if I'm curious.
If you were fearful of damage to the transmitter by it getting snapped off, it can be easily rigged with a small hose to prevent that happening. Happy your setup works for you though which is the aim anyway. :thumb:

Yeah each to their own. Having both just makes me look like a modern diver though. I customized my Perdix settings to my own needs already. Nice piece of kit any diver should have.

Unsolicited, so forgive me though you may already have this covered, but would be good to carry a mechanical spg as a back-up just in case the digital goes ----.

Yes. As a backup - in your save-a-dive kit. AI and an SPG both attached to your 1st stage is just increasing the changes of a failure that results in a gas loss - for no real benefit.

I also turn off the transmitter linking signal when not in use since that uses up battery power constantly searching for the transmitter.
It doesn't link with the transmitter. It is just a receiver. Like a FM radio, except at 38kHz. So, yes, turning it off saves a small amount of power, but it is not like turning off a transmitter.

If you read what I wrote previously I bring my analogue SPG with me anyway. After all it takes no extra space to bring with my other gear.

Hello!!

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but has anyone had any update on the battery issues on the Teric? I'm looking at the two, and am leaning towards the Teric, but the battery issue is definitely something that is preventing me from going out and buying one today. If anyone has any information on this, that would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you and I hope you all are well.

Respectfully,

OctoHelm

According to Dive-tronix the issue is now fixed, and they've gotten all the defective batteries out of their production facilities.

There were also some other threads besides this one that were devoted specifically to that issue.

In following them, I would summarize them as people figuring out what was normal and what was not, and when they should involve Shearwater support. At no point do I remember anyone saying that their problem did not get resolved, though granted some had multiple servicings.

You should probably read them for yourself to be sure.

All in all, I would buy my Teric again.

I called SW, and they said that the issue is still where it will discharge, but that would take quite a while.

Does Dive-tronic supply the batteries to SW?

Dive-tronix does the US repairs for Shearwater. He has a close relationship with SW.
