Garmin’s technology is way better, maybe Shearwater has caught up?

Being unable to 100% confirm connectivity pre-dive because it uses different technology underwater vs above is far from ‘way better’ in my book. It’s actually a show stopper.

Garmin’s technology does transmit further underwater but I honestly don’t need that. What I need is absolute assurance that a paired transmitter on the boat is also paired underwater. Garmin fails on that front.

Honestly, i am not the biggest fan of pressure transmitters. (But i just bought one today on sale for the first time since my wife's Uwatec Air Z 25 years sgo) You should always have a real SPG and the transmitter is a nice to have that you should plan on not working at any point.

I don't think i have ever been on a 7+ day dive trip when at least one diver flooded, broke, or otherwise had one fail. If it don't work, no problem because I don't need it to. I am going to put it on my tropical travel reg set, but likely won't use it on my primary CCR setup beyond a few test dives.

That debate has been hashed out multiple times on other threads. Not starting it again here. I will say that personally I have 350 dives so far with a transmitter, zero transmitter failures and counting.

I really needed a new roller bag for gear too. The ScubaPro Mesh roller looks like just what I need.

Not to hijack this thread, but I checked out the ScubaPro -Sport Mesh 'N Roll 100 bag, the Tusa BA-0301 Roller Mesh Bag, and the XS Scuba Coastal Roller Bag. They're all about the same size but I found the Tusa to be a little sturdier, rolls better, and I just liked it better overall. It's $149 vs the ScubaPro $160.

My spouse will probably not be happy when I replace her yellow transmitter with a swift.
I'm on the fence with whether to replace my yellow transmitter with a Swift. I only dive single tank so I am struggling with why to go to Swift other than it is a great price right now and it is 5 years newer than my yellow one.
Thoughts? what am I missing here?

Warranty, better battery monitoring by the computer, indicator light, and collision prevention.

The main thing you’re missing is the suspension of logic as it applies to scuba. If it were $50-$75 off I wouldn’t give it much thought if I didn’t have any compelling need but this is $200 off plus those other things cited above ;)

Oh, I'm not missing the suspension of logic here....quite the opposite. That is the problem. How can I possibly pass up something really cool at $200 off ?? Paragon has them for $235....was kind of hoping they had run out of stock but looks like I can find no reason not to buy at least one
