Shearwater Research Inc. is pleased to announce a new online course and simulation for the Predator created by Dive Nav Inc. The simulations are available for both open circuit and closed circuit diving.

Although the Shearwater computers are among the easiest to understand in the technical diving market, we still see an opportunity for an new user to experience the simple and intuitive user interface.

So now, for a tiny fraction of the investment in a computer, you can take an in-depth course on how the computer operates and even go on a simulated dive before you make a decision.

Check out the DiveNav site for more details.http://DiveComputerTraining.com

We will be announcing a contest for one person who takes the Predator course to win a Shearwater Predator. Check the DiveNav site for details.

Bruce...as I am about to purchase the OC model this weekend, I sure hope that there is enough information coming with it (I know some documentation is already available on your website) for me to get this thing started and be able to use it without having to undergo a distance learning experience...lol

I bought mine last year. You do not need a online tutorial to use it. The predator is one of the easiest dive computers I have ever used. I had the "pleasure" of diving a VR3, Liquivision, and Nitek X before my purchase.

That experience convinced me I was buying the best tech computer on the market. I didn't even print the owners manual. It is that easy to use. I took it out of the box, updated the firmware, and started using it. It really is that simple.

Totally agree with all the above.

Bruce was kind enough to lend me one a couple of years ago during Tekweek in Cayman. After 5 minutes of setup and instruction I used it on a 200 foot,2 deco gas, trimix dive. Really is that easy.

Thanks for all of the kind comments.

Yes, our biggest goal has been to make the computer as easy to use as possible, even if it takes sophisticated state machines to make it happen.

But we are seeing a new kind of customer now. We have a significant number of Nitrox divers buying that are planning to move to trimix in the future. I think it is helpful to give them a way to see a multigas dive or a CCR dive.

It allows people, who don't have a friend with a Predator, to see the user interface in advance. It can be tough to decide when all of the technical computers are apparently "simple and intuitive."

Got mine today...should be able to get it wet within the next two weeks. Very easy to use on the surface. Can't wait to try it underwater
