My fiance has a Scubapro Ladyhawk, and I have been trying to find a good place for her to store some shears that will be easily accessible but not just hanging off a D ring. The Ladyhawk only has a roll out pocket on one side which is where she keeps it now, but it seems like there should be some better place to stow it.

Where do the other Ladyhawk owners on this site keep things like scissors/shears?

If its in a sheath try ziptying it upside down to the right shoulder harness. It takes a couple of zipties and is always handy.

I have a Ladyhawk and have mounted my shears behind the weight pocket. The sheath is held in with a piece of rubber surgical tubing tied off to a piece of webbing at the back of my bc. There is enough tubing so I can pull the sheath forward and get the shear out. It works well and is out of the way. I am not able to provide pictures at this time because I am in the process of moving and my dive gear is at my buddy's shop.

I suggest laying the sheath inside of the bc where the weight pocket goes, place the weight pocket in as well and experiment with the best way to hold it in. It took several tries to come up with the right length of surgical tubing but this has worked for me for the past 5 years.

I hope this isn't as confusing as it sounds. PM me if you like, and I can probably photograph my bc this weekend. I am sure a picture would be very helpful in explaining this simple way to mount shears.

These are good suggestions. I'll take a look and see if I can make one of them work.

@Bratface, if you get a chance to snap some pictures that would be awesome.

Sorry for the late post. I'm diving tomorrow and will take pics of how my shears are mounted. It will make sense of it all once you see it.

Here's the pictures of how my shears are mounted on the inside of the weight pocket on my BC. You can see the shears are in the sheath and sits behind the weight pocket. The rubber tubing loops around the webbing at the back of the weigh pocket and is held tight with 2 zip ties. I push the tubing inside of the pocket and it is not seen, it was pulled out for the photo. Push the sheath inside of the pocket as well and pull it out when the sheaars are needed. If I'm going to be cutting a lot of line underwater, (I'm an underwater trash collector), I just clip the shears on a double-ender and put them back at the end of the dive.

I also have pictures showing how I carry my slate. I stick the slate in my cummerbund if I'm making notes underwater. It takes a little practice to get in back in the pocket underwater, but this works well for me and has for years.

I love my Ladyhawk but have had to find solutions to essentially having no pockets. I have mounted a small pocket to the left side for my spare computer and signal mirror and have a pouch mounted behind the BC to hold my lift bag/surface marker.

I give credit to my friend, Dave Farrar, owner of Gypsy Divers in Raleigh, NC for finding the solution to mounting the shears inside of my BC. Dave figured this one out over 5 years ago, and the original tubing is still holding the sheath in place for the shears.

If you have any more questions, just send me a message.

I have a small pocket on the waistband in front. I just slipped it over the buckle, and have it tied to the BC with a bit of thin bungie so it doesn't come off accidentally. It holds my shears, a small slate, and a backup light.

The pocket I have is a stiff mesh and about 5x7 or 6x8, but I don't recall the brand.

My pocket is smaller and I forget the manufacturer. I know that DUI makes a small mountable pocket and pockets in other sizes. It is easy to just slip the webbing over the buckle.
