Here's the pictures of how my shears are mounted on the inside of the weight pocket on my BC. You can see the shears are in the sheath and sits behind the weight pocket. The rubber tubing loops around the webbing at the back of the weigh pocket and is held tight with 2 zip ties. I push the tubing inside of the pocket and it is not seen, it was pulled out for the photo. Push the sheath inside of the pocket as well and pull it out when the sheaars are needed. If I'm going to be cutting a lot of line underwater, (I'm an underwater trash collector), I just clip the shears on a double-ender and put them back at the end of the dive.
I also have pictures showing how I carry my slate. I stick the slate in my cummerbund if I'm making notes underwater. It takes a little practice to get in back in the pocket underwater, but this works well for me and has for years.
I love my Ladyhawk but have had to find solutions to essentially having no pockets. I have mounted a small pocket to the left side for my spare computer and signal mirror and have a pouch mounted behind the BC to hold my lift bag/surface marker.
I give credit to my friend, Dave Farrar, owner of Gypsy Divers in Raleigh, NC for finding the solution to mounting the shears inside of my BC. Dave figured this one out over 5 years ago, and the original tubing is still holding the sheath in place for the shears.
