I just don't log dives
It is neither possible nor necessary to outswim a hungry shark. All you really have to do is outswim your diving buddy. This is why I prefer to dive with pink-clad individuals. Sharks will frequently seize and rip to shreds divers wearing pink, primarily because their esthetic sensibilities are almost as well developed as their sensory apparatus.

I don't wear pink, but since I am a much slower swimmer than my normal dive buddy, you guessed it, I'm shark bait.

That's funny I make sure my wife wears yum-yum yellow for the sharks :).

There is no evidence to support the idea that sharks prefer pink or yellow. The fact is, the #1 color combination divers were wearing when attacked was Blue/Black. You can find this fact by perusing the International Shark Attack Files Web Site... Happy Chummin'

Sharks are more inclined to attack people wearing pink? Haha thats crazy, i knew barracuda were attracted to shiny objects (kinda makes me wish i didnt buy silver fins) but i had no idea about that lol

Pink dive gear really upsets me.... I know it shouldn't..I am working on that. Neon upsets me. Antbody seen those new chartruese signs at our airport? (Honolulu) Unnatural colors are ghastly.

oh no, that upsets me. I saw this woman the other day in this photo pattern see through mesh wetsuit. these people ruin my pictures.....or maybe I ruin my pictures...anyway it doesn't help.

Barracuda and shiney objects are a myth as well.

I dive with Barracuda... and some big boys indeed in North Carolina. They're always hanging out with us at the safety stops. So I'm often playing with them to see what they'll do and won't do.

I've got a shiny dive watch and a shiny wedding band. I have flashed them at the Barracuda to see if they would attempt a strike... and after numerous attempts on many individual fish, none of them would budge from their state of suspension.

They do seem to take greater interest in wiggly things. I have loosened the fingertip of my glove and wiggled it in front of them. They moved closer - but still no attempted strikes. One big boy (must have been a grandpa), actually came in close enough that I was able to reach out and pet him on his back... he startled st first and swam away... then he came back and allowed me to pet him. I don't know if this is a first or not when it comes to Barracuda... but it was a great experience.
