That video is 20 years old. Looks like it worked. If that person had not been wearing the shark suit than it would have been real bad.

I wouldnt aggrevate a shark on purpose even if I had that chainmail suit.. It probably has its areas, but a big shark biting you would still pose a problem and theres also the matter of your gear being chewed up..
 
Here is a video taken from a tiger/bull hand feed operation. Notice the indiscriminate biting by the sharks in the video. (warning, awful music)

The feeders are wearing chain mail gloves for protection, as well as using metal poles, and at one point using a rubbermaid garbage can.

Don't you wish everything was made like Rubbermaid (tm) ?

Such amazing creatures.. The problem with such feeding is that these sharks clearly see divers and think "feeding time" as opposed to "the average shark" and I can see that possibly posing a problem to someone NOT having food for them..
