In Jupiter, FL, we frequently dive sites where sharks are baited/fed. We are often the beneficiaries of shark encounters on Deep Ledge, the Esso Bonaire, and at Lemon Drop, during Lemon Shark aggregation. However, these dives are not analogous to a commercial specific shark diving site in that the sharks are not baited/fed in the same place, in the same way, several times per day
I did 2 weeks of diving with Ocean Frontiers off the east end of Grand Cayman in 2011. We saw several Reef Sharks on dives at The Maze, Pat's Wall, Jack McKenny's Canyons and Scuba Bowl. We were told that it might be because these sites are near Shark Alley, where Ocean Frontiers had a shark awareness program that ended around 2002. Do sharks remember or is this just where they like to hang out? I don't know where Ocean Frontiers executes their X-dive, a drift over 3 sites, where they nearly guarantee shark sightings, does anyone know?
